Hello.

We have a really great creative challenge for you this week at the Lawnscaping blog.

"Distress maniacs"

Use some kind of distress, either a product like distress ink or distress your paper of card.

There really are so many things you can do for his challenge  and we cant wait ot see what you come up with.

I started with my card base and I used an ink blender  with distress ink to make the background.

Then I used a rainbow die and I die cut it and then coloured with distress inks .....i probably should have done that the other way round lol but I only wanted to cut one ;)

I coloured this cut little critter from the believe in yourself mini set with hickory smoke distress ink and a water brush, 

I left the dies cut clouds white but added some clear wink of stella.

To finish some sequins were added.

Seven hills crafts challenge.

Hello. 

Have you seen this months challenge at Seven hills crafts.

The challenge is Embossing...any type of embossing can be used.

To be eligible for a prize you must use items from the store.

I have used Concorde and 9th products for my card.

I made my background panel with some left over distress inks. 

The ink was on my craft matt from another project so rather than just clean it with a baby wipe as I normally would I spritzed with some water and placed my card directly onto the ink.

Next i die cut two of the butterflies from the flutter and floral dies and stuck them together and used them to emboss my panel, I run them through the big shot numerous times until I had enough pattern.

The sentiment is stamped in black archival ink is from sophisticated script.

Lawnscaping #129, calling all critters

Super fun challenge today on the Lawnscaping blog, Calling all critters.
So many options are there for you to use your favourite critters :)
This challenge is sponsored by the fabulous Ellen Hutson.

I had a  lot of fun making this card.

I started by colouring a die cut panel with some distress inks. 

I used my favourite new technique...which is to use make up brushes.

Once the colour was on I added some extra interest by flicking water on and added some perfect pearls for some shimmer,

Then I used the icicle die for some grass.

The critters and flowers are all stamped on to water colour card and water coloured with Inktense pencils and a water brush.

Everything was then fussy cut.

Once everything was adhered in place I added the die cut sentiment which has been cut and layered three times then covered with perfect pearls and glossy accents.

Final finishing touches were some sequins and stickles.

Sophisticated for you

Hello, here is  my card from the Seven Hills crafts blog.

My card today uses the beautiful Flutter and floral dies and Sophisticated script stamps from Concorde and 9th.

I have seen in blog land people using brushes with distress inks  so I bought some cheap make up brushes just to see how or if it would work, and it did work :)

I knew I wanted an inky background for my card and I think by using the brushes with distress inks gives a good coverage and can go on lighter than when using a blending tool so perfect for those not wanting heavily saturated colour.

Of course you can add as  much or as little as you want.

Once I had added the ink to my water colour card, and flicked some water and gold glimmer mists for some extra detail. 

I then stamped the sentiment in black archival ink.

I die cut two of the butterflies and made sure to keep them whole.

Next I die cut another four butterflies from thick white card and adhered two to each other.

I placed them back in to the empty space on my panel and went about assembling the die cuts back into place.

The coloured butterflies  wee given a dusting of perfect pearls and added on to the white die cuts and then covered with glossy accents.

To finish I added some sequins and dots of gold stickles.

Re run, My precious

This is my final card as talent in residence for Winnie and Walter :( 

Its been an amazing four months, so thanks very much for having me :)

Now on to the task at hand....Re-Run challenge! 

This month the design team are re visiting My precious stamp set.

I have made a really clean and simple card but think the colouring gives it a really big impact.

I started by die cutting the solid diamond from Flawless diamond cutaways from white card and coloured with distress inks.

I then splashed some water onto it and the dabbed away the excess to remove some of the colour. 

Finally I added some perfect pearls which gives the most awesome sparkle and shimmer.

Then I used the multifaceted die from the same set in black and adhered it to the solid version.

To ground the diamond I added a stripe of black card across my card base.

My sentiment is made up of words from the My precious stamp set and have been stamped in black archival ink directly onto my card base. 

The final finishing touch was to add some dots of diamond stickles.

For my fall themed project i used the new coffee sets from Reverse confetti.

For the love of latte and caffeinted cups.

To start i blended  yellow orange red and brown distress inks directly onto my card base.

Then flicked some water on let it sit for a short while and dried with some paper towel.

Finally i flicked some gold glimmer missed and spritzed it for lots and lots of sparkle.

The cups are die cut from water colour card and i used the same distress inks and loosened it up with some water then dried and flicked some more gold over the top before adding to my  card base.

The sentiment is stamped directly on the  card base in black archival ink.

And a close up to show the sparkle from the glimmer mist.

Play with pastels.

I made today's card for the Simon says stamp Flickr challenge.

This is challenge #26 and the theme is Play with pastels.

This is my first time using this Happy Meowday stamp set ...and Ive had it a while ..oops!

I stamped the image in black archival ink onto water colour card then stamped just the box another two times.

All of the images are coloured with zig clean color  pens and water brush.

I the fussy cut them out and added to my distress ink coloured panel with some foam tape.

I added lots of wink of stella onto the boxes and some clear sequins to finish.

Birthday celebration

This is my post from the Make the day special stamp store blog.

 By now you will have seen that the design team are playing with this fun birthday celebration stamp and die set from Echo Park. 

Its a great way to show of our styles and to show that you can do so much with this set.

For my first card i stamped the sentiment randomly in versamark and heat embossed in white.

I then used distress ink in seedless preserves, picked raspberry and spun sugar ( sounds yummy eh ) to make an ombre background.

Then I  die cut and stamped the gift box in gold and added to the panel with foam tape and finished with some small gold sequins.

My second card also has a distress ink background. 

I just added some watered down distress ink to my panel and dried with a heat tool.

This time i used the large cake and die cut and stamped it in versamark and heat embossed with a sparkly black powder.

Again i finished with some sequins.

Happy mail

Hello.

I have to post something to a crafty friend and i decided to spice up and recycle an envelope to use.

The envelope was already used so i removed the stamp and then got happy with Paper smooches reflections 2 stamp set and lots of distress inks.

To cover the address that was already written on the envelope i just used a circle die cut which i will write my crafty friends address onto.

After all of the stamping i added some liquid pearls just for an extra detail and one that shouldn't be ruined by going through the postal system.

I am entering this at Paper smooches sparks anything goes challenge.

Watercolour blog hop

Hello.

As soon as i saw the Facebook event for a watercolour themed blog hop hosted by pretty pink posh i knew i wanted to join in, i mean who doesn't love water colours?

With all the various types of water colours i have i went with some distress inks.

I'm not an overly pink person but i LOVE picked raspberry so that had to be used along with squeezed lemonade and salty ocean.

I added the ink to an acrylic block and lifted with a water brush once it was all dried i added some splashes of each colour.

I used Winnie and Walters Addies garden stamps, its full of the most beautiful flower images.

The images are heat embossed in platinum on vellum and fussy cut.

I coloured the back of the vellum with copics which gives a muted almost watercolour feel.

I finished with the sentiment and trimmed down die cut "you" in glitter card and finally some clear Pretty pink posh sequins.

Roaring good birthday

hello.

The current challenge from Lawnscaping is calling all critters...its been a while since I have used any critters stamps and it felt god to get them stamped and coloured.

I masked the critters and  the tree after I stamped them and then  made the background with distress inks.

I coloured everything with Derwent coloursoft pencils.

I kept this super simple and just stamped the sentiment onto the panel.

My Precious

Hello.

Today i have a trio of cards using Some Winnie and Walter stamps. on the Make the day special stamp store blog

For this card i stamped the mini scenery stamp in versamark and lightly covered in some gold perfect pearls then just tapped the excess off.

This creates a gorgeous sparkly gold but its very hard to photograph.

I then stamped the sentiment straight onto it with black archival ink.

The diamond was coloured with pencils and added with some some foam tape.

My second card uses one of the diamonds from My precious stamp set.

I simply stamped in rainbow colours using distress inks.

The sentiment is from the party.

Lastly i just wanted to play with a random look.

I still had my distress inks out and just mixed some coloured onto my card and stamped the circles in black to stand out. 

I splashed some gold perfect pearls and added sequins and some liquid pearls to finish.

Mix it up take 2

Hello.

As there is still some time to enter the Mix it up challenge at Ellen Hutson i made another card using Essentials from Ellen and Avery Elle.

I started by partially die cutting my card panel with the bold blossoms dies.

Then on to my card base i stamped the images from Avery Elle's Petals and stems stamp set in various distress inks.

I also used the sentiment from the same set. 

I adhered the panel on foam tape to my card base and finished with some clear sequins.
