Merry (Monochrome) Christmas

I made my card today for the Re-run challenge over at Winnie and Walter.
The re-run is of the Happy Christmas stamp set from October 2014 release.

With the images and so many sentiments you can achieve various looks and styles either on its own or mixed with other Winnie and Walter stamps.

As you can see i mixed the Happy Christmas set with some other stamp sets.
I have always love the monochrome look and wanted to achieve that with my card.
I simply stamped in London fog and tuxedo black inks from momento.
I used the second and third generation of each image on my panel so it was just the faintest of lines.
All of the shading was then done using hb pencils and just blended with my finger.

Once i had complete the panel i die cut it with the smaller of the rectangles from Essentials Katharine cutaways and decide it still needed more.
So out came the stickles and liquid pearls.
Red for the holly berries and diamond on the street light and i added the pearls to the mistletoe.
The sentiment is placed on the banner from the big bold extras and some more pencil shading.
For the card base i didn't ant to leave it pure white so i use my blender tool that i use for black inks bit didn't add any ink just used what was on it to keep it really light grey and the did the generation stamping with the confetti stamps.
If you are in the UK or Europe you can get these stamps from Make the day special stamp store.

Thanks for looking.

  1. WOW!!!!!! I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say this is a mini MASTERPIECE!!!! One thing I'm not great at is "scene building", but you've done it here in a way that has my jaw dropping to the floor! Seriously, brilliant work, Kate!!

  2. What a wonderful card, Kate! The tiny touches of red and silver are exactly perfect!

  3. Wow beautiful card, love that you just used a basic pencil for all the colouring and that splash of red perfect finish.

  4. Words fail me - this is so absoulutely stunning! Hard to believe you can get this effect from just pencils. Beautiful job. Xx

  5. Oh wow kate... I love how you shaded this little scene :) Feels like I'm peeking through a window on a misty Christmas eve ;)
