Getting to know me

 Hello.
I was asked by Kelly Latevola from You and your big ideas   if i wanted to take part in this getting to know you blog hop ...i then remembered that my friend and teamie Lydia had also done something similar a little while back and with so much going on i forgot to do it sorry Lydia x So i said yes after all its just for fun eh :) And i will combine this with Lydia's one.
You can see Kelly's post here and Lydia's post here.
This is a super long post for me ...you have been warned :)

So lets get started
1. What projects are you currently working on?
Mostly design team projects for Make the day special stamp store and add a little dazzle.
I am a challenge addict and love all the challenge blogs out there.
Other than cards i crochet and am currently trying to get two blankets finished that i started ages ago.

I decided to case one of Kelly's cards i think it was the first  card i saw of Kelly's.

It had to be the Lawn fawn no line colouring.
Kelly nailed it with this she has a beautiful way with colour and design
I used our friendship grows from Lawn fawn and coloured with copics and a white gel pen.
And you see the stitched panels? They are from Lawn Fawn  and my new addiction lol.

2. What inspires your designs?
It could honestly be anything from  an advert colours or sometimes just new stamps or products.
And obviously other card makers / crafters,  My crafty idols are my good friend Jenny Mullens  she is totally awesome honestly she is. Jenny has the most fabulous eye for details in stamps and that's inspired me to look more at stamps i have and to get more from them you should definitely check her blog.
Also Ardyth Percy Robb and Donna Mikasa  If you've been living under a brick and don't know these two you should check them out. Ardyth has a fabulous graphic clean and simple style she never makes a less than perfect card ever. Donna Is another clean and simple girl but uses techniques to get the most out of her stamping ...and the colours ....go see ..awesome use of colours.

3.What method / process (if applicable) do you apply to each of your creative projects, and how long does each project take to complete?
Oh boy I'm making this really exciting lol...i have no method or process i kinda work in chaos ....or take that as mess or maybe both ;)
I hate mess but i just seem to work better with everything around me ...i know its gotten too much when i have to hunt for something i just put down  and yes that happens haha.

And here is my case of Lydia's card

I used the same Winnie and Walter stamp set that Lydia used and instead of a die cut for the sentiment i used another of the big bold sets from Winnie and Walter.
I loved the bold colours Lydia used so went with them and although Lydia's card has lots of layers i kept mine as one layer with lots of masking.

4.If you had to describe your 'signature' style, what would it be?
My style is like my working conditions chaotic haha
I guess I'm  a clean and simple girl at heart but i love to try all sorts.
That can often lead to me making some terrible cards  and on occasion i blog them ..oh the shame. ;)

5.What three crafting tools/products can you not live without?
Wow this is tough i think daily i use my stampin up scissors and i think number 2 would have to be my pearl glimmer mists love the sparkle it gives with none of the mess of glitter ..your all feeling that eh!  and ...distress inks ...it was tough between them and copics though as i have been using them lots lately..

Now i nominate my new Teamie from Make the day special stamp store Julia Altermann  .
So i can get to know her too.
I know i love her cards she has a clean fun style and she stages her photos beautifully.
I decide to case one of Julias cards too.

I loved this card in particular although simple in style the gold embossing and black sentiment give a dramatic yet elegant look.

CAS Gold Embossed Card Set-2

  2. Wow, Kate, I never had anyone case anything of mine! So honored about that – and your card turned out super awesome, too! Well, all of your cards did, no surprise there :)

It's so fun to read about you and get to know you a bit better; you have a fun writing style (apart from obvious skill when it comes to crafting). Challenge accepted and I'll carry on the blog hop next week!

Thanks for sharing so much about yourself with us!
