Hello.
The latest challenge from Simon says stamp over on Flickr is a colour challenge,
Black, white and yellow.
I had a really tough time getting the photograph to capture the yellow.
It is nearly all squeezed lemonade distress ink.
The bottom left corner i wanted to make an ombre yellow so reached for my fossilized amber ...or at least i thought it was till the blender touched my card and bam i tried to get the colour to lighten and wiped it to get it off but no!
So there is a teeny bit of orange.
I guess for a craft accident its not the end of the world ...could have been any other colour and it wouldn't have worked lol.
Any way i made the background using a Simon says stamp stencil.
Careful not to cover all of the card base.
then i stamped the flowers in black ink randomly.
Then i masked them all before adding the rest of the colour.
While the mask was on i did flick some gold glimmer mist onto my card.
To add some last extra details to my one layer card i used some black and yellow enamel dots and some clear sequins.
The centres of the flowers i coloured with a black wink of stella pen and covers with glossy accents.
Thanks for looking.
Beautiful colours and that stencil is fab. I love your accidental use of orange - somehow it just works for me. Xx
ReplyDeleteLove the total effect. The bit of orange is so minimal it looks like ombre. The background stencil is one of my favourites and the little flicks of gold is the perfect finishing touch. Wonderful card
ReplyDeleteI love the yellow!!!& your stenciling is beautiful Kate!!
